Scottish Water came to us with a public relations challenge. We helped
them to address this by making a documentary that dealt calmly and engagingly
with all the issues.
Whilst embarking on a massive
programme of works to update the Victorian infrastructure that delivers water to Glasgow,
Scottish Water encountered huge opposition from local people, politicians and environmentalists who were worried
about the effects of the enormous construction project.
The company urgently needed to explain not only why Glasgow's water needed this massive
investment, but how they were going to ensure that they managed the project in a
way that answered everyone's concerns.
Muckle Hen worked with Scottish Water to identify the key messages they wanted to
convey and then involved all those parties with concerns to ensure that the
film responded to them. We then brought in Steve Coogan's comedy writing partner, Neil MacLennan
to write the story of Glasgow's Water - past, present and future in a warm
and friendly manner that avoids corporate spin.
The resulting documentary is presented by that most unique of
Glaswegian artists, George Wylie. Being who he is, he successfully addresses
all of the concerns whilst also positioning the construction
project firmly in the proud tradition of Scottish engineering feats of the past.
Here's the film we made. Let us know what you think of it!
Film can be an incredibly powerful tool when you have a message you need to
get across to a target audience. It can involve and present arguments from
all sides of the equation, allowing you to answer worries and concerns,
clearly and persuasively. It can emotionally engage an audience in a way
that printed material struggles to.
If you have something important you need to say, then do speak to us. Let us help you to engage your audience so you can get your message across.
